I’ve made repeated requests and suggestions over the years to Harley-Davidson Motor Company for a modern motorcycle with a retro look, feel and vibe similar to something our grandfathers generation would have ridden, not something the baby-boomers with their love of flashy cold chrome ride today. Basically I was looking for the direct opposite, the ‘Anti-Bling’ as I like to call it, and more Like the old-school black frames, painted handlebars and forks of years past, like a throwback to the history and origins of Harley-Davidson, with it’s grays, blacks and ‘less is more’ approach to ascetics. A true factory custom, classic yet modern – the best of both worlds!

My repeated requests did not go unheard and Harley Davidson’s Dark-Custom line of motorcycles was introduced in 2008 as the company’s attempt to gain the attention of a younger, hipper customer base. The bikes are trendy with their pitch black paint and traditional designs. There are seven different bikes to choose from in this Dark Custom line.
