Drum Workshop (DW)

At Drum Workshop, The Drummer’s Choice is more than a slogan, it’s a fact. After more than thirty years of innovation and tireless dedication to improving the way drum products are made, DW drums, pedals and hardware are the standard by which all others are measured. To get here, it takes more than a working knowledge of the instrument or a few good ideas; it takes a true passion for designing and manufacturing the very best.

Back in the day rock drummers would put their tom-toms on the average snare stand, but it was too heavy and it would choke the sound of the drum and not let it resonate to its fullest potential. Also it was very top-heavy and the bottom base tube was always cut too tall to allow you to lower the tom-tom to the desired height. I personally prefer my sitting position and drums on the low side to feel closer to the earth and for better ergonomics sitting at the drum kit. To my chagrin Drum Workshop discontinued their cool low snare stand and low drum throne. At the time Drum Workshop made the best designed and engineered drum hardware and symbol stands on the market, that were originally made in the U.S. and super heavy duty. I spoke to the head guys at Drum Workshop multiple times and gave them my ideas and concepts for a lower sturdier snare/tom-tom stand that would not topple over due to being top-heavy with heavier snare drums and tom-toms. Finally after nine long years it was finally brought to market. Thanks Drum Workshop, about time!
