BURT’S BEES Island Getaway SPF 30 Lip Balm

Originating in Maine in the 1980s, the business began by making candles from leftover beeswax. The first headquarters was an abandoned one-room schoolhouse rented from a friend for $150 a year. This eventually led to the bottling and selling of honey by the two co-founders.

Now Burt’s Bees is an American multinational personal care product company. The company is a subsidiary of Clorox as of 2007, that describes itself as an “Earth-friendly, Natural Personal Care Company” making products for personal care, health, beauty and personal hygiene. Its products are distributed globally.

After utilizing BURT’S BEES SPF 15 All-Weather Moisturizing Lip Balm at the beach and surfing I was in search for a summertime lip balm with a little more sun protection in an SPF 30 if possible, and that had very slight all-natural flavoring so it would not taste like chalk from the Zinc Oxide during water sports. So after providing my Product Concept and my continued requests, BURT’S BEES finally came out with BURT’S BEES Island Getaway SPF 30 Lip Balm in 2024.
