The Beatles “Thank You Girl”

Ah, ah, mm, you be good to me
you made me glad when I was blue
And eternally I’ll always be
in love with you
And all I gotta do is thank you girl
Thank you girl

I could tell the world
a think or two about love
I know little girl on ly a fool
would doubt our love
And all I gotta do is thank you girl
Thank you girl

Thank you girl for lovin’ me the way that you do
(way that you do)
That’s the kind of love that is too good to be true
Al all I gotta do is thank you girl
Thank you girl

Ah, ah, mm, you be good to me
you made me glad when I was blue
And eternally I’ll always be
in love with you
And all I gotta do is thank you girl
Thank you girl
Ah, ah, ah

Congratulations Sir Paul McCartney!

Sir James Paul McCartney finally received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Thursday 2/9/2012. Congratulations Paul; about time I say! Thank you for you and your mates incredible contributions to Rock ‘n’ Roll over the years. It definitely would not have progressed if it wasn’t for you four Beatles. You and your band mates music and progressive attitudes have brought a lot of joy to a lot of people, including me. I hope there is a kid right now listing to your music on his iPod and he and his friends maybe the next mega rock band, because god knows we need some real good quality rock band to pass the torch to.

What a cool guy, Paul you Fucking ROCK!

Girl, I gotta have you, gotta get you where I want you
Know exactly what you’re doin’, don’t you?
Treat me like you like me, like you don’t like me back

I wish you’d give me the green light, give me just one night,
Girl, if you don’t like how I roll
You can say, no thanks, don’t ever call me
Forget you ever saw me, forget my name
Girl, you might just like some country road moonlight
Dancing in the lights of my headache rack,
Think about that, yeah think about that
Is there any chance
You could cut me some slack

I know I got a wild side, wilder than a country mile ride
I got a name around this town
And girl, I don’t really blame you for the things you might be thinkin’
They’re probably true but that ain’t me now

Give me the green light, give me just one night,
Girl, if you don’t like how I roll
You can say, no thanks, don’t ever call me
Forget you ever saw me, forget my name
Girl, you might just like some country road moonlight
Dancing in the lights of my headache rack,
Think about that, think about that
Is there any chance
You could cut me some slack

Take me by the hand, believe me when I tell you
That I never ever felt like this, girl
And that’s the truth

Give me the green light, give me just one night,
Girl, if you don’t like how I roll
You can say, no thanks, don’t ever call me
Forget you ever saw me, forget my name
Girl, you might just like some country road moonlight
Dancing in the lights of my headache rack,
Think about that, yeah think about that
Is there any chance
That you could cut me some slack

Oh oh oh, yeah
Cut me some slack
Oh oh oh, yeah

Slow My Roll

A song that caught my feelings today was Kid Rock’s “Slow My Roll”. The lyrics spoke to me, it is time to not always be ware the action is but to seek out quality over quantity, instead of just skimming over the surface. Sometimes taking on other peoples issues, and trying to better your community may need to take a backseat no matter how passionate or helpful your intentions are. That time may be better served tending to yourself; it may be time to just – slow your roll.

Kid Rock “Slow My Roll”
There’s a new day on the horizon
There’s a rising in the air
Somewhere somebody’s tryin’ to tell me they care
So I’m a lift my head to a new day
Plant my feet on the ground
Look at life in a new way and what’s goin’ down
Cuz today’s the day, I’m gonna take things slow
Try and change my ways, forgive and let all that go
Tell the ones I love, what they need to know
I’m gonna turn around, settle down
And slow my roll
Mixin’ lonliness and whiskey
Heartache and cocaine
Livin’ life like a gypsy, lost and ashamed
So I’m a look to the Lord as my witness
Rest my hat on a shelf
Trade these boots for forgiveness and find myself
Cuz today’s the day, I’m gonna take things slow
Try to change my ways forgive and let all that go
Tell the ones I love, cuz they need to know
I’m gonna turn around, settle down
And I can’t believe 16 has long since past
Ciz I’m tired of runnin’, and never looking back
And I won’t survive if I live this life this fast, no, no
And today’s the day, I’m gonna take things slow
Change my ways, forgive and let all that go
Tell the ones I love, what they need to know
I’m gonna turn around, settle down
And slow my roll
Slow my roll, slow my roll

Don’t Follow

Listening this morning to one of my favorite bands Alice in Chains, this is how I was feeling today.

Tribute: Michael Christopher “Mike” Starr the original bassist in Alice in Chains past away on March 8, 2011. Mike was one of my favorite rock bassist, he enhanced the bands sound and vibe. Their are not to many great bassists out their but he was one of them. He had a heavy but mellow haunting sound to his music witch I love. I was privileged to see Mike play with Alice in Chains twice, an underrated band. Bands with any real sole just don’t exist today.

Alice in Chains: Jar of Flies “Don’t Follow”
Hey, I ain’t never coming home
Hey, I’ll just wander my own road
Hey, I can’t meet you here tomorrow
Say goodbye don’t follow
Misery so hollow

Hey you, you’re livin’ life full throttle
Hey you, pass me down that bottle, yeah
Hey you, you can’t shake me round now
I get so lost and don’t know how
And it hurts to care, I’m going down

Forgot my woman, lost my friends
Things I’d done and where I’ve been
Sleep in sweat the mirrors cold
See my face it’s growin’ old
Scared to death no reason why
Do whatever to get me by
Think about the things I said
Read the page it’s cold and dead

Take me home
Yeah, take me home
Take me home
Take me home, yeah
Take me home

Say goodbye don’t follow
