Premier: The Beast Snare Drum

Premier: “BEAST” Snare Drum

Premier’s elusive “BEAST” Snare Drum premiered at The Winter NAMM Show 2015 and it delivers unrivalled power and sensitivity and is loaded with innovations that make it the most ferocious Premier snare drum ever produced.

The secret behind the BEAST lies within Premier’s breakthrough shell technology, the Air-Flow system, a triumph of British design and technical ability from which it takes its name – British Engineered Air-Flow Shell Technology.

This Air-Flow Shell Technology runs at the heart of the BEAST. Sonic Chambers circulate the air movement through the shell bringing body and depth to its tonal characteristics. The power and projection is transported via optimally placed Air Projection Vents that control the volume of air released from the shell. The end result is a snare drum that is dynamic, dominant and versatile.

Expertly engineered by (Keith Keough – now co-owner of the British Drum Company) at the Premier Custom Works, The BEAST is constructed from proven materials that enhance performance – the lugs are machined from solid aluminium and fitted with stainless steel True-Tune Inserts that pivot freely, delivering precision alignment and tuning; whilst the cast aluminium hoops further stabilise the tuning process within any range.

Taking Premier’s famous shell-building techniques to new heights, The BEAST features a massive 50-ply (28mm) specially blended shell, formulated and hand-made in Leicester England from the finest woods recognised in drum manufacture: birch, tulip, sycamore, oak and maple.

The BEAST is built for endurance and demands to be played. Heavily influenced by our core values – passion, quality and innovation – it combines ground-breaking design with British ingenuity, setting new standards to perfect the world’s most powerful snare drum ever.

Unfortunately there are no videos on YouTube to see and especially hear this cool snare drum in action. What a total bummer that Premier only made this drum in a small production run. But most disappointing to hear was that Premier Percussion a well-known British Drum Manufacture since 1922 closed there plant in the UK and have moved all their production to Taiwan, what a shame!

Call Paiste America at 1(800) 472-4783 or Contact Paiste on Paiste’s Contact Form, or email Paiste Customer Support  (4infoatpaistedotcom)   to request theses awesome 2002 Wild Cymbals back in the 2002 lineup.

Paiste: 2002 Wild Cymbals

Paiste: 2002 Wild Cymbals

Paiste: 2002 14 Wild Hats

Paiste: 2002 14” Wild Hats

Strong and powerful, yet sensitive.

The 2002 Wild Hats are very strong and powerful, yet sensitive hi-hat cymbals that are well-suited for today’s rock and metal genres. Their sound character is metallic, icy, full, and piercing. Fairly wide range with a complex mix. The Paiste Wild hi-hats are very responsive in feeling with a roaring open sound and a sharp, dark, and cutting stick sound.

Weight: Medium Heavy top, Heavy bottom
Volume: Medium to Very Loud
Stick sound: Icy, Sharp
Intensity: Very Lively
Sustain: Fairly Long

Paiste: 2002 14” Wild Hats

Paiste: 2002 15” Wild Hats

Paiste: 2002 15” Wild Hats

Paiste: 2002 20 Wild Ride

Paiste: 2002 20″ Wild Ride

Ideal for forceful playing styles like rock and metal.

The Paiste 2002 Wild Ride cymbal is well-suited for forceful playing, especially in rock and metal. This cymbal delivers a pronounced, crispy ping over a loud, massive, icy wash in a wide range with a complex mix. The 2002 Ride has a huge, dirty sound that’s very loud and aggressive when crashed. I t has an even feel, is very responsive, and has a full, rich, aggressive sound.

Weight: Medium Heavy
Volume: Medium to Very Loud
Stick Sound: Silvery, Shattering
Intensity: Lively
Sustain: Long

Paiste: Rude 14” Wild Hats

Paiste: Rude 14” Wild Hats

Paiste: 2002 Big Beat Cymbals Logo

Paiste: 2002 Classic Black Big Beat Cymbals Logo

Also I’d like to see the 2002’s silkscreened logo in BLACK just like the cool ‘Big Beat’ cymbals logo and NOT the dated big red square logo. I like to see the 2002 go back to their original classic roots and go back to small classic All-Black logo. Just like the classy special edition 2002 John Bonham set Paiste reissued years ago. The large red square logo is totally dated and completely detracts from the beauty of the cymbals. I’ve been requesting this for years.
