BMW GS Adventure Concept by Alex Earle
BMW GS Concept w/Cargo Trailer by Alex Earle
Alex Earle’s BMW GS Concepts are similar to BMW R 1250 GS Oberdan Bezzi design, but way more futuristic and cooler. Bezzi’s BMW R 1250 GS design is practical and is perfect for 2010, but Alex Earle’s BMW GS Concept is what he doctor ordered to take BMW Motorrad USA into the future. BMW’s GS line up is an all-around, do-it-all ‘Swiss Army Knifes of Bikes’ adventure motorcycles that are well engineered and reliable, they just lack the visual aesthetics I crave, and all important cool factor that is so sought after hear in the states.

Earle studied at Art Center College of Design, which I was accepted to, but I never saw the point in coming up with killer transportation concepts to just have a lone concept car made, or for that mater nothing at all to ever hit the production line.

Alex Earle gets it! His style is ultra modern with a hint of retro vibe. His BMW GS concept and renderings are what the GS and GS Adventure could be and should be; an ultra sleek, modern, utilitarian, nimble tank.

BMW has the design pedigree, I am not sure why the GS lineup is not treated like the iconic beloved 3 Series autos, with care and a different array of models geared to the individuals needs and desires. Sporting-luxury or just all out sport like with the M3. I am making a suggestion to BMW Motorrad to hire both Bezzi & Earle to work on future motorcycles projects. And if they want to hire me as a Creative Director or Creative Consultant, I’d welcome it. Well the BMW R1200 GS concept and renderings pictured hear I feel are stunning, cool and stay true to BMW’s progressive engineering it is now just finally represented on the outside. Maybe one day we will see a High Performance GS Adventure Tourer from Bavarian Motor Works? If you build it they will ride it.

“This is an exercise to develop my ideal long-range motorcycle. My concept is to create a bike combining the legendary GS engineering with a minimalist approach to cladding and parts count. A kind of Leatherman tool on wheels with no concessions to comfort or efficiency. Another machine of substance, as endearing as a horse.” – Alex Earle
